Ugandan singer, Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool has defended his recent assertions in which he alleged that only 30% of Ugandans understand the English language.
While responding to the numerous social media enthusiasts that castigating him for the remarks, Bebe Cool said that about 60% of Ugandans know English but that most of them do not understand it.
He gave an example of Dr. Abed Bwanika’s statement that he would overhaul the education system in Uganda.
“I asked someone in Ishaka who was so excited by the statement but it turned out that he did not know what it meant,” Bebe Cool wrote.
Bebe Cool further blamed the organizers of the debate for not taking care of special needs groups like the deaf saying that that was undemocratic.
“About the debate, next time, take care of the DEAF coz they only understand sign language. That was so undemocratic for them yet they r also many and they vote,” he wrote
